Wednesday......might hv been an ordinary wed any other time.....this tym its a mutually understood govt holiday....India vs Pakistan semi final.....India the favourites since long before the WC started.....Pak who surprised spectators with there performance.....we woke late....nt much class attender i am....only gud thing in IIT Kanpur other than the net speed is no1 bothers fr attendance mostly........
India elected to bat......Sehwag hit Umar Gul fr 5 fours in one of the initial overs.....Canteen ws house full.....i almost hate Umar....his face suggests he has a disgusting smell under his nose..!!
They made heavy mistakes.....dropped catches....of Sachin..!!...nearly as many as 5...!!...Sachin made 85....nt much convincingly....Wahab Riaz bowled brilliantly....his inswinging yorker to Yuvraj's stumps made people sigh...!!....India managed to get to 260.....after a flier...Pakis looked happy......I think 260 ws a gud total to defend...!!..First of all Paks r nt a grt battin side...besides the pitch didnt look as gud as people thought....!!
Pakistan started k type....in d middle overs spinners really slowed the scorin rate after some wickets fell off....thnx to Misbah who ws nt in a scoring mood.....i knew he wd b cursed later...it turned true later.....watchin Afridi caught...the boom boom wid 23 batting avg ws so much cheered in d quad were match ws bein screened........every dot ball being cheered loudly....finally India won by 29 runs.....
I ws so nervous watchin Indians bowl under the lights wonderin if we wd b able to defend d score......gettin nervous at each boundary....wonderin if Afridi wd suceed in his demolition mode.....
I remember nthg abt the day xcept the match...i doubt if i did nythg else...!!..Sachin ws d man of the match....did nt msg Dear i think.....people msging n updatin statuses.....abt SLanka bein the runner ups already..!!....i dreamed wen Men in blue wd really win it.....n the country celebratin..on d streets...in d stadium....in d bars....in front of their TV sets.....whole family sittin n watchin us win......it wd b really a proud moment....
