An Idea Can Change Your Life

00:22
10*09*2012

The Earth still holding on. No signs of destruction reported yet .
Australia slipped to a lowly Xth position in T20 rankings - one below the 9th placed Ireland. George Bailey the Aussie skipper says that it is not amusing but he is so wrong...ask me and my fellow countrymen- it is so bloody amusing! And soothing!

After watching much movies i have commenced reading stuff regarding survival in wilderness....stuff like this: http://www.wildwoodsurvival.com/index.html
What are we supposed to do when we end up on an island like Tom Hanks in Cast Away... especially me- how am i supposed to keep me and the flow of ideas alive? With applications of limits and continuity? Or perhaps doing an analysis of the surface topology? It is good to be prepared beforehand. It is a good site- it shows how to set traps and snares, create fire , where to get water and important things like that. Not that it is going to do much good to you because you won't be knowing how to do it practically but nevertheless in any case it will more useful to you than Group theory and Linear algebra.

I watched Kick Ass recently. Disappointing. The rare interesting moments were the times when a strong black man seized a bazooka from somewhere, kept it for reserve and later decided to use it on a nine year girl who had got on his nerves. Now who uses a bazooka on a small girl....in fact who keeps a bazooka as a sidearm ! Also i watched Never Let Me GoAvengers and  Man on Fire. Man on Fire is quite watchable. Sadly I don't have much idea what happened in Never Let Me Go.

I liked Avengers especially because they showed India (Calcutta to be precise) and people talked in Hindi for a moment. The Hollywood people are so self centered that they never give a thought about India while aliens attack US, Europe , Japan, etc. I admit we do have calendars with Mighty Muscular Hanuman and other Lords everywhere but still there might be some unintelligent aliens who are not scared of the Lords- they can invade us!! The most beautiful scene from Avengers was when Loki was frustrated by Hulk and in the midst of the fight stands with celestial pride and says "Enough- i am a God you ugly green creature! And I will not be bullied by...! " ....and before he could finish his 'authoritative' statement,  Hulk lifts him like a Barbie doll and starts furiously whipping the earth with his bpdy!!. A Must Watch!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZrmxMqupVg
It reminds you of Shoaib Akhtar proclaiming that he is a fierce, lethal bowler and blah..blah...blah and the next day Tendulkar comes and ruins his life !

Sites offering home delivery service of books and electronics are getting inefficient. Buy2read.com (now Blacklisted)delivered my text book on Continuum Mechanics after 23 days. Who delivers a book from New Delhi to Kanpur in 23 days!! In 23 days one can go to a printing press and get a book printed personally (at least i believe so)! If only the people would understand the value of time!

I read this beautiful piece of text which said that : If only Indian politicians understood time well (and by time i don't mean time as a dimension space type of thing) and did not came an hour late before an audience of say 5000 we won't be having 5000 national hours wasted. In 5000 hours so much work could be done!! But obviously i can't present the idea on a national level because of two main reasons: First and the more important reason: No one would give a fuck about about it. Secondly every time you start a game of counter-strike or DAY DREAMING someone would come breathing down your neck saying "Hmmm...you were lecturing something about time saving and national importance.....?? " The idea would completely disrupt the life of the country!

Day dreaming is nice. It is a conduit for ideas to flow in you. Earlier i thought a lot about dinosaurs but since dinosaurs have been ridiculed too much through animated movies I have given up on day dreaming and gone to watching Doctor WHO. It is so wildly imaginative and idea'tic' that it is not much different from day dreaming, only the thing is you are watching someone else's dreams and ideas. Once I had this idea of going to a place Jaduguda in Jharkhand and bring a bag of uranium ore with me. I could sell it and get rich but Physics ruined everything. Some place i read about the need of enriching Uranium and also that a typical uranium ore contains 670 pirocurie per gram of uranium. I have absolutely no idea how much a pirocurie is but it does not sound like it is going to be a quantity big enough to make me rich .Its good to have some backup ideas too .

I Have A Dream

01:35
08*09*2012

Finally CCD has opened up in my campus and it is offering lucrative discounts (perhaps around 40%). I am planning to make such a good deal of use of it that I wont be wanting to go other non IIT CCDs with no 40% discounts after i leave college (except on treats of course!)
Trivia: The 1st CCD was opened in Bangalore in July,1996.

India won the Nehru Cup beating Cameroon in the finals. I learnt the name of some Indian footballers apart from Sunil Chetri- Robin Singh, Denzil Franco, etc. Definite signs of progress in Indian Football.

If you want to play poker you can come to my wing. If only Tennyson would have been lived in my wing he would definitely have said "Men may come and men may go but poker stays forever" !! I don't mind poker as long as it does not involve actual money for buy in and also it is not strip poker

I once read a short story by Jefferey Archer involving Strip Chess. The author was a chess player at a club and he invited this pretty girl to his apartment for playing chess. The author figured out that the girl was not much of a chess player so he offered bits of money each time the girl won and the girl was suppose to take off a piece of clothing when the author won. The author was making easy progress. In order to keep the girl from leaving the game he made a final offer of grand amount of money against the last piece of clothing. The plot reveals a twist- she was actually a hell of a player and was keeping the author in deception till then and beat him in a few moves in the last game leaving him stunnedObviously the story teaches us not to select a girl for Strip chess without proper scrutiny! Anyways i don't play chess let alone strip chess!

I have bought The Lord Of The Rings book recently. These few lines by Sunday Times were enough for convincing me-- "The English-speaking world is divided into those who have read The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings and those who are going to read them". I was really surprised to know that Frodo was more than 40 years old in age! He looked not more than 15 in the movies!

The companies have started coming for interns and placements. There is this Deutsche Bank who offer lots of money but make a lot of fuss before hiring people. Don't complain if you have never seen their ATMs ever. A friend of mine from Bokaro -Shantanu got selected for the intern and was so pleased that he did something i am not supposed to write about it in public. But i will give a hint - He gave us a tr*at ! Anyone with non negative IQ should be able to figure it out!

If you want to read difficult words to improve your vocabulary as well as know the plot and review of Ek Tha Tiger or Cocktail you can refer to this section by Priyam Nayak who also owns a dog:
http://priyamnayak.wordpress.com/
I don't like dogs very much. I don't know if i am scared of them or not but i do wish for a law of keeping all the dogs chained with short chains!

I made a pretty awesome joke....at least i think it is awesome:
What would have Martin Luther King said if he was studying at IIT Kanpur ?
I have a Quiz (instead of dream)!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Have_a_Dream

I am watching Dr Who TV series these days. It might not be the best of TV series at convincing you and in embedding realism but what does appeal to my mind is the wild imagination. It involves greater imagination than even Calvin and Hobbes! Besides the Doctor is lively, fun, cheerful and meets Shakespeare, robot guys with lasers and appealing accents, walking trees, Queen of England, men with rhino heads, etc. Also he has this TARDIS-Time and Relative Dimension in Space -his spaceship in the looks of a police box on outside. The TARDIS is bigger on the inside than it looks from outside similar to harry Potter stuff! The characters and story play with human curiosity and this sustains the interest in the plots.

A Train to Hyderabad - II

One of the 'awesome-est' places in Hyderabad I saw was The Nehru Zoological park. I was sitting on the bus stand with the Piyush - the one who did not leave IDRBT after a few weeks of playing poker. We were waiting for any bus with vacant seats and go to any place it took us....er- that was our 'natural' way of seeing Hyderabad. As a bus came a random man with no work to do and sitting there probably for ages advised us to take it. It occured to me later that the man was not just a random person but belonged to the league of legendary people like Gandalf, Dumbledore, etc who just give you the instinct to do something weird and you realize later you could not have done a thing more right. The zoo park trip was more than successful as we heard the lion roaring and putting the entire place to a silence, saw the cutest tortoise ever and first time ever saw a giraffe. I am just not sure if you use the word cute for tortoises- after all they are so senior to us....

On the return we saw a lot of burkas. Actually we went to see the Char Minar but the pigeons and the women market no less than one km long along the road were more worth seeing than the Minar. Why is it even famous!! I was baffled that what did the women say to burka seller- Yeh black wala nai....nai wo black wala dikhana?!!?

One of the facilities i loved at the institute was the Gym and TT. Apparently most of the interns were looking forwards to the Olympics so they never spared the table so i had to spend my evening in the gym . If someone had told me not to use the trademill at its top speed and highest inclination i would not have done so and the machine would not have got overheated and damaged. Alas!! This ignorance of my fellow mortal humans caused the gym to be out of bounds for intern students that day on-wards!!

Another place  worth seeing in Hyderabad was the Golconda fort. Right since when we had been planning about our visit i was saying that the fort had to do something to do with Kohinoor (the diamond not the condoms!).... No one told me anything but finally months later i found this text from wikipedia "
The Golconda fort used to have a vault where once the famous Kohinoor and Hope diamonds were stored along with other diamonds. At that timeIndia had the only known diamond mines in the world.
I finally convince myself that i am a bloody genius!! :D
I like forts. We snapped say about a million pics there. The credit goes to Muski who wanted to have his pics twice everytime-once with his cap and then without the cap. If you ever have been told that i completed my project in first 15 days or so,  i must inform you that the rumors were initiated by this Muski creature resembling Golum

The only thing more intriguing than Muski was this thing Shubham from IIT Delhi who had grown so health conscious that he used to go to the gym after smoking cigarettes !! But he was an important person there- afterall he had a Plug-in internet connection in the apartment!
This blog must mention a year junior from my college Ved Prakash the sandwich guy....He loved making and keeping things to eat as much as i love to eat... Nothing in the entire universe can be a more perfect example of symbiosis....I was constantly blessed with maggi, laddoos, mangoes and sandwiches thanks to him !!

I used to think that everyone who was doing any intern somewhere must be having lots of  fun people around them but i realized only later that most of the interns did not had friends who threw beer bottles from the roof at midnight !! Nor do they have friends like Deepak Bansal from IIT Kgp who say they don't want to go by train, make you walk 2-3 kms on the Necklace Road saying there is a bus station nearby and ultimately end up taking you to a railway station one stop further from the previous one from where you miss the last train and so again have to go searching for a bloody bus !

Some other places we visited were Lumbini Park Laser Show and a BIG Inox screen with spiderman crawling on in it. They both shared one common feature- while they were running and i was sitting motionless with a gloomy face i was desperately praying for the piece of shit to stop!!" Why did the Hollywood people even make this new spiderman and what was anything new in it! And And what was that Rimjhim Rimjhim Hyderabad during laser show?!!? They allure people with stuff like Laser Show and show things no less threatening than Twilight movie!!

A Train to Hyderabad - I

Finally I arrive home after my summer internship in Hyderabad. I have quite a time to pass without football, college library,cricket (T20 is not cricket; it is more of a baseball ) and such other pleasures of life. The only good thing in the nearest future is The Dark Knight Rises.

I reached Hyderabad via some unusual route which would be Kanpur to Ranchi, Ranchi to Chennai, Chennai to Bangalore and then Bangalore to Hyderabad all by rail due to reasons even more unusual than the route!! The Ranchi to Chennai journey was gruesome caused by the humid weather, non-stop sweating and nonsense talk by co-passengers who were going for some engineering examination in the South. The adventure from Bangalore to Hyderabad was far more adventurous with the weather being more pleasant and the debate match between a young man vs old man and his old sister regarding South Indian politics being cut short by the TT. I took a quick liking for Hyderabad after I was able to reach my provided accommodation from station by spending only Rs 13 for the bus travel of maybe 10kms. Things became even more beautiful when I found decent breakfast nearby @ Rs 10-12.

I found myself sharing an apartment with 3 CSE guys of IIT Hyderabad :Sumit Chuttani ( he does not like to be called by his surname), Rohit Jindal who is no relative of the Jindal Steel people, Rajan-an avid promoter of Indian Tobacco judging by the number of smokes he had each day! Two Piyush from my Mathematics department in IIT Kanpur joined us in the apartment later, one of whom left 7 days later after collecting his bag from the IDRBT people and playing a lot of poker in the apartment.

I got my Data mining project on “Particle Swarm Optimization trained Cascade Correlation Neural Networks and applications”. I distinctly remember looking passively at my professor when I was told about the project topic (unlike my friends who raised their eye-brows when I repeated the title). I settled in the room comfortably connected to the probably one of the most beautiful things of the world- the internet!

The biggest news of the day was broken to me soon: Facebook and youtube are blocked on the LAN. The second biggest news of the day followed soon: Use TOR (an encrypted browser) to use fb and Vtunnel for youtube. LIKE A BOSS!!

Apparently the IDRBT guys were Hollywood fans and used access card for entering all the rooms. Before I was much aware of it I had nearly made a decent attempt to break open a door which neither appeared to be locked nor unlocked.  I loved the concept of some uniform person coming and serving us coffee or lemonade twice a day. I was also accompanied by lot of guys from IIT Kgp (Seemant Ujjain, Shresth Pratik, Deepak Bansal, Himanshu, Manish Anand, AbhinavYellanki, Nitesh) who broke the entire world into two variables called LOAD and PEACE and had only thing to say- kuch to machaya hai!! If i go on mentioning all the names i would look like this: A guy on radio on "Aap ki farmaish" programme saying "aur is gaane ki farmaaish ki hai Patna se Bittu, Chitu, Ballu, Sonu......aur unke saathiyo ne..."

Initially the mess guys who served us chapattis using a spoon and a fork and wore white uniforms were not very pleased at us asking for more chapattis, but reluctantly gave to our demands after persistent demands and deceitful pilferage!! The mess people continued to surprise us with a big container of rasam each day at lunch and dinner. We failed to figure two things: What to consume the masala water aka Rasam with ?
How the fuck all of it got finished?!!?

Our first trip out in the city was to the Hyderabad Central and grand looking but good for nothing GVK one mall. I took good care not to invest money throughout the intern into crap like Jannat 2, Teri Meri Kahani, Shanghai, etc at the 'cash extracting machines' called Inox, imax, etc. I did watch Vicky Donor on  the lappy and liked it. We found some Rs 55 theatres with the sexiest seats you could imagine of ! There were sofa seats on which I sat with my legs folded cross on the seat and the cooler beside me blew winds from the Himalayas into my happy smiling face. I think it was one of our greatest discoveries in Hyderabad. We watched Rowdy Rathore and Gangs of Wasseypur there. Akshay Kumar sucks !!

The Best Of SPORTS

Hi everyone.....

I dont think any of you give a damn about the World Series Hockey but according to Wiki....." WSH became the first hockey tournament ever to live stream all the matches online on Google's video and music sharing site YouTube " Also Sher-e-Punjab became the first crown holders after winning 5-2 vs Pune Strykers....!

I consider it wise to keep the Hockey section as short as possible as i dont want to lose any of my readers!!

The Emperor of Entertainment has arrived- the Indian Premier League......and it initiated with a clash bw two mighty teams - Chennai Superkings vs Mumbai Indians (only after a weird looking Katy Perry shook her vocal chords and other body parts)- the two IPL teams with topmost brandvalue.....it was not much of a contest and the Chennai localites must have been disappointed to see their home team crumble at mere 112.....The MI did hardly anything wrong in the successful chase......the only disappointment being The Cricket Maestro getting retired hurt at 15.... I am looking forward to a great performance by the spinner Pragyan Ojha this season......

The second match KKR vs Delhi Daredevils saw the wrath of Gods and was reduced to a 12 over game......KKR continues to disappoint in IPL with a devastating batting performance......a score of 97 might not look bad in 12 overs to you but only as long as you dontknow that they lost 9 wickets in achieving that!! The less star studded DD finished the job only at the cost of two wickets and with five balls to spare.....Irfan Pathan starred in the chase with a 42run knock off 20 balls and bagging the man of the match award......

The UEFA Champions League saw no surprises with the Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea moving into the semis.....the only team facing some real resistance were the Blaugranas  against AC Milan who had held them at a goalless in the Milan home but failed to pull a magical away win at Camp Nou and so FC Barcelona kept their record of being unbeaten at home since October 2009!! The best of action is yet to come with Bayern Munich taking on Mourinho's team...frankly speaking i dont know which is preferable-- an aggressive Real Madrid vs Barca in the finals or Barca facing the German Club in its own den (MUNICH) !! Frankly speaking I do not think Chelsea should be much of any hinderance in Barca's path to a consecutive second year UEFA Final !!

Some people cant digest Milan's defeat at hands of the European Champions of last season and continuously point at refree's faulty penalty award to Barca in the second leg......i wonder why cant these people look at the game stats of 60-40 ball possession or number of attempts on target 8-1 .....the only figures AC milan excelled in the match was the number of yellow cards - SEVEN vs Barca's two !!.......I believe a few more minutes of play and the entire team would be carrying a yellow card each ......something like an ID or Admit card!!

Lionel Messi made a record of highest number of goals in a single UEFA Champions tournament and is currently sitting on 14 with at least two games for him! RESPECT!!

I dont watch Formula one races but i do become aware when some German chauffeur like Sebastian Vettel raises his middle finger at any Indian.....the Germans continue to show their attitude and superiority like they did on their path to devastation during WW-I and WW-II.....Some people never learn! It gives me pleasure to see him waiting for his first win of this season after his last season's dominance.....

Though i must tell you that Narain Kartikeyan did collide with Vettel causing him to lose several points......! :P

The Downfall of Rightshopping,in

Hi everyone!

The greatest thing ever since invention of wheel has occured - i finally got interned at IDRBT, Hyderabad. Ever since i got the mail i have become so impulsive that i pick up random people on the chat make a smiley and say "meri intern lag gyi" . At times i even go to the extent of making them exclaim using this - " Particle Swarm Optimization trained Auto Associative Neural Network (PSOAANN) as Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis (PCA)  and a single-class classifier: Applications to Banking and Finance "-- this has been mailed to me as my project topic. I believe either it has never been tended to by an indegenious mind or it must have been a top secret project by secret people because nowhere on the google the whole expression is contained on one web site!

Coming on to the one of the best things in the world- Cricket. Bangladesh stunned India and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup by successfully chasing against both of them. They were so close to the third greatest thing of human race after invention of the wheel and my internship- almost winning against their forefathers-Pakistan but just fell short of two runs. Unlike most other people i dont see Bangladesh as weaklings....in the past few years they have been doing quite good and the one of the best things that might have happened to Bangladesh Cricket is BPL (Bangladesh Premier League)....It equips the players with ability to handle pressure, play sensible cricket and be fearless against any strong team. Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan are some very talented players on whom Bangladesh would be relying in future.
Mind this, The wheel i was talking about was not the detergent wheel for utensils....

Have you ever observed cats? Sometimes i observe birds and animals too closely and this has aroused much curiosity in me regarding cats.....when i look at dogs - i see them sniffing around for food all the time or having a nap, Birds keep hopping around with short swift flights to and fro eyeing small insects or food or messing with squirrels, squirrels keep running up and down looking in tree holes but Cats?....all they do is sitting on their back legs and staring at people.... creepy !!........like some people in your neighbourhood (in Maths it is also called an open ball around an element x !!) whom you would always see sitting in the verandah or balcony watching people pass by and doing nothing.....the worst thing you could do then is make an eye-contact- they never break the eye-contact and when you finally tilt your head in the other direction i believe they sway their fists in honour of their only successful venture of life! Want to know a fun Cat-fact ? Cats respond most readily to names that end in an "ee" sound!! Also Sir Issac Newton is credited for inventing CAT doors.
I dont think i would ever own a cat unless some1 threatens me to do so else he will kill me......bloody useless and spooky.....

If you have not listened to the Jimi Hendrix -Vodoo Song you must do it immediately.....and if you dont like it dont tell anyone.....you would be probably be considered a disgrace to human race..... as disgraceful as the Roadies' hosts the Baldy brothers.....Also if you like hearing good music and have not heard of a band called Florence and the Machine, you might want to try its Hurricane drunk, Howl and Seven devils.....

I have a free coupon of rightshopping.in which bestows you with a 100 rs shopping discount.....only its useless to me because its only applicable to salwar-suits, sarees, perfumes and bouquets!!....I have tried every means to sell it and its quite clear to me that i am never going to be a good businessman or salesperson (judging by that the coupon is still unsold!) Why would the web site ever gift such a coupon to me? I mean whats the probabilty that anyone buying a book A Beautiful Mind would buy salwar suits ? If they would have made a coupon for earphones and Messi or Sachin t-shirts it would not have been such a waste......Clearly i am not the only one who does not know how to sell stuff.....the rightshopping.in people are on their path to doom .......they will fall and they will fall deeep.....

Before any of you object to my not including Sachin's Tendulkar 100th century in the greatest things or events of the world.....i want to make it clear that after what we have seen in his stance, his cover drives and straight drives, his humbleness, his sportsmanship and his GODness we should know it was no miraculous task for him.....it would have happened anyway.......it is more awing for mortals and less graceful people (rest of the cricketers) of the world who are shadowed in his presence......My roomie thinks Sachin should retire.......He is sick.....pls msg him on facebook " Get well soon Maamu"...here is the link : https://www.facebook.com/Anurag9119

Holi Holidays @ Home

Time-12:47
Date-08*03*2011

Just finished a movie- The Girl with the dragon tattoo.......good movie.....Daniel Craig and a weird actress with a lot of piercings on her body.......dnt emphasise much on the title.....the dragon tattoo has hardly anything to do in the movie.....Also watched War Horse in the noon...... more than a good movie- something like an awesome or maybe awesome square movie! And it had to do quite a bit with both horse and war... I wonder if the Bollywood directors, scriptwriters and actors feel even a tiny bit of shame when they watch and compare such marvellous movies with their Desi Boyz and Wanted! Earlier they relied on the actresses getting naked to attract the crowds but i believe now they felt there should a chg in the trends – "league se hatkar movie" so we now had Desi boys doing the same....

If you want to see a light movie and see time travel without any magic or sci-fi shown in the movie have a go at "Midnight in Paris".....n dont think i have taken money for publicizing Hollywood movies in India.....I am a big well wisher of Indian goods and things and sports......like i always buy Indian made Dabur Red toothpaste, HUL made Hamam soap, Action made footwear, etc........Gandhi wd have been so proud of me....if i was born in late 1800s i might have got a mention in History books along with him! Anyways Midnight in Paris.....at mid-night in Paris each day the protagonist enters a cab and somehow reaches the early years of Paris and meets Hemingway, Dali, Picasso,etc......

I have read only one book by Hemingway yet- For Whom The Bell Tolls.....the plot is back in times of Spanish Civil War.....and the protagonist is assigned to blow a bridge......the book is great except it contained lot of philosohy at times not meant for people like me with little knowledge of literature and symbolism! Symbolism and Philosohy reminds me of Paulo Coelho......currently reading Brida .....i have absolutely no idea why he wrote the book and what had he smoked or drank before writing it.....mayb when i complete it i would be impressed ......i dont like to criticise Books or write anything to hurt their feelings .......

Today as i waiting to cross the road i met a rickshaw puller constatntly staring at me......Within 2 seconds i had come up with the reason for eye-contact- we were wearing the same Barca 10 number Messi jersey!! i almost had made my mind to give him a hi-five and shout "Yo Barca" but i guessed he was not much in Barcelona or football.....because then he would never had worn a Messi t-shirt with a 's' missing......thats a sheer insult!! At least i wd never buy a Messi jersey with any spelling mistake that is noticable even if given for 100rs less !!

Important Stuff:

Regarding Kapil Dev's recently given statements, i believe there is a lot of gravity and truth in his words.... except in one- I dont see why he said Tendulkar should have retired immediately after the World Cup....i mean where was the motivation and reason to retire? He was in good form in those days.....also if Tendulkar would have retired each time some Ian Chapell or Kapil Dev recommended so.....would the Little Master have reached to such heights? Besides this,i believe criticization of Sehwag and Dhoni was completely justified.....absolute bias towards Suresh Raina and neglect of Manoj Tiwary.......

Admiration for fight the Lankans put before the Aussies in the VB series.....chasing 287, almost chasing 310+, and a successful chase in the second final !! They deserved to win the series as said by Ravi Shastri ! Indian women Kabaddi team deserves a mention for becoming the World Champions! And so does Sandeep Singh for his recent excellent performance in qualifier for Olympics Hockey.
